A Century of Physiology – 1926 to 2026
The year 2026 marks a momentous milestone for the Chinese Physiological Society (CPS) as we celebrate our 100th anniversary!
Since its founding in 1926 by Dr. Robert K.S. Lim, known as the “Father of Chinese Physiology,” the Society has witnessed and helped shape a century of advancement in physiology. Over the past hundred years, the Society has undergone multiple transformations—from its reestablishment and the relaunch of its journal to active international engagement. Through generations of dedicated scholars committed to heritage, innovation, and excellence, physiology has flourished in Taiwan and made a lasting impact on the global stage. To commemorate this historic occasion, the Society hosted its centennial celebration during the 40th Joint Annual Conference of Biomedical Science (JACBS) in 2026. IUPS President (Dr. Yoshihiro Kubo) and FAOPS President (Dr. Gary Housley) gave congratulatory addresses and special lectures. The event concluded successfully, marking a meaningful celebration of a century of achievements while inspiring continued advancement in physiology for years to come.
