The 11th Federation of the Asian and Oceanian Physiological Societies Congress (FAOPS 2027) is pleased to invite proposals for scientific symposia for the meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 31 July to 3 August 2027. 

Hosted by the Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology (MSPP) and held in conjunction with its 40th Annual Scientific Meeting (MSPP 2027), the Congress will be conducted under the theme: 

“The Marvels of Life and Beyond” 

As the flagship congress of the Federation, FAOPS 2027 will bring together leading and emerging scientists from across the Asian and Oceanian region and beyond, providing a platform to showcase scientific excellence and foster international collaboration. 

The Congress aims to deliver a high-impact and forward-looking scientific programme. We warmly invite symposium proposals from the FAOPS Member Societies and the broader international scientific community, particularly those highlighting key advances, regional strengths, and cross-border collaboration. 

Important Dates 

• Submission Opens: 15 April 2026 
• Submission Deadline: 30 June 2026 
• Notification of Outcome: By 15 August 2026 
• Confirmation of Speakers (with registration): By 31 August 2026 

Symposium Organisation and Requirements 

• Three speakers per symposium 
• 60 minutes total (including Q&A) 
• One Organiser (primary contact and symposium chair), who may or may not be one of the speakers 
• All presentations must be delivered in person 
• Proposals should reflect regional and international representation, with consideration of diversity and inclusion. 

Proposal Requirements 

• Symposium title and a brief synopsis 
• Three confirmed speakers 
• Proposed titles of each presentation 
• Abstracts for each presentation 

Selection Criteria 

• Scientific merit and originality 
• Relevance to FAOPS 2027 scope 
• Interdisciplinary value 
• Strength of regional and international collaboration and diversity 

Registration Policy 

All symposium speakers and organisers are required to register for the Congress. Acceptance does not include complimentary registration. Confirmed speakers and organisers will be eligible for the early-bird registration rate.
