University of Ottawa Heart Institute--Post-Doctoral position
PhD graduate student position or postdoctoral researcher position to determine how genetic variants in IRF2BP2 confer susceptibility to arterial calcification using vascular smooth muscle cells programmed from human iPSC cells. The applicant will receive training in CRISPR-Cas9 technology to generate genetically matched pairs of human vascular smooth muscle cell lines differing only in an IRF2BP2 genetic variant (see Vilmundarson et al. Front Cardiovasc Medicine, 2021, 8, 687645). Mouse models of arterial calcification bearing ablation of IRF2BP2 in macrophages and smooth muscle cells also to be studied. Please contact Alex Stewart (
