Enhance Your Physiology Teaching Skills

Prepare for next semester with the American Physiological Society (APS) Center for Physiology Education's new virtual Effective Physiology Teaching Course. This program is designed for early-career participants who are interested in preparing for academic positions that require teaching or are teaching-focused. Participants will be paired with an experienced mentor for individualized advice as they work through the program.

The summer program runs from June 1 to October 15, 2023.

Course activities will include:

• attending biweekly virtual workshop sessions to develop effective educator skills, such as writing learning objectives, inclusive teaching, facilitation of active learning and assessment design;
• participating in biweekly, one-on-one virtual mentoring; and
• developing an individualized teaching portfolio with application and/or promotion materials for academic teaching-focused positions.

To participate, submit an application prior to registering. Applicants must be a graduate student, a postdoctoral fellow or an early-career investigator. Prior teaching experience is not a requirement for participating in this course.
